June Checklist

SO... June! It's the middle of winter, WAAAY too early to get started with summer internships. Nope, now's good! This month we celebrate World Intern Day on 18th June, so it's a great time to be thinking about how you're going to invest in junior talent this summer. We have over 1000 students actively looking for roles, both now and for the summer.

  • Step 0: If you're new to Summer of Tech or if you want to know what's new for us in 2021, check out our Employer Launch Info Session video here.

  • Step 1: Register here for our 2021 programme, it's $500, huge value for unlimited job listings and access to 3000+ candidates from all over Aotearoa! (We have a success fee too, more info here on pricing.)

  • Step 2: Set up or update your organisation profile. Get some tips here.

  • Step 3: List your role(s)! We suggest you list summer internships before the end of July if possible, to get maximum exposure.

June Tips & Tricks

  • Want to hire before summer? You can list graduate or part-time roles at any time of year. List a "SoTJobs" role. Contact our team here for more information.

  • Reach out to your colleagues. It's always good to get support internally for the internship process. If you aren't in HR, you can involve them too! You never know which area of the business might like an intern to! Start chatting to them. If you need some neat stats about New Zealand Internships you can check out our recent report. Alternatively, have one of our team present to yours to explain the process.

  • Confirm intern placements on World Intern Day (18th June), and take advantage of our 2-for-1 deal! To celebrate World Intern Day 2021, we're offering 2-for-1 on placement fees, for summer internships confirmed on 18 June. Contact our team if you'd like to take part.

That's it for June! Remember we are only one click away if you get stuck or need to ask a question!
