We were stoked to have some hardware companies participating in SoT2016, and Tekron, who are a world leader in high precision GPS and atomic clock solutions, headquartered in Petone, were among them! They were stoked to have a couple of interns, who they report brought real enthusiasm and talent to the team.
Jack at Tekron
Hi, I’m Jack!
I’m studying Electrical and Computer Systems Engineering at Victoria University Wellington and I’ve had the fantastic opportunity of working at Tekron this past summer!
I met the company through a Summer of Tech run meet and greet, and was immediately hooked on the cutting edge products they were developing in the field of GPS timing and control applications.
My time here has been spent developing an automatic testing machine for one of Tekron’s products named TRACER.
Creating TRACER involved challenging Mechanical, Electrical and Software Engineering challenges which were very rewarding to solve, and the finished Product will be able to test the product in 2 seconds instead of the 12 minutes it takes a human!
I’m very thankful for the opportunity to work and learn at an incredible company developing at the cutting edge in their field, combined with a fantastic view and a 5 minute walk to macca’s, this internship has been a dream come true!
Thanks for sharing, Jack! We have more stories of our “class of SoT2016” here.
