Bootcamp Highlights - Getting Ready for Recruitment Season

Guest Blog by Kimberley HaywardWith recruitment season starting up, and events such as Meet and Greet just around the corner, Ruth from Summer of Tech was kind enough to come in and share some insight into what to expect and how to prepare.Meet and Greet is one of the biggest opportunities for both students and employers to interact with each other, and with so many people attending it’s important you prepare well and have a game plan before you walk in the door. It's important you figure out which companies you want to talk to, what roles you want to talk about, and have some good questions you can ask them to show your interest. It’s also important to think about how you’re presenting yourself, both verbally and physically. Think up a short pitch to introduce yourself, no more than 30 seconds, so the person you’re talking to can get a quick understanding of the type of person you are and where you are in terms of study. As for dress sense, smart casual is the way to go, with a lot of the employers coming straight for work in their usual work attire.
