Bootcamp Highlights - Intro to Code Bootcamps

Guest post by Tabitha ByrneFor this Wellington bootcamp we had Roger Nesbitt sharing tips for making the most of our Summer of Tech code bootcamps, as well as debunking some common myths held by coders starting out in the job market.Certain bootcamps came highly recommended depending on the type of role you'd like to go for, be it web, software, mobile, devops, etc. 101 bootcamps are a good chance to pickup a new skill, but be sure to practice and build on what you've learned later on.Once you've had a bit of practice, masterclass bootcamps are recommended to develop your skills even further. In particular, the Javascript bootcamps came highly recommended by Roger. In terms of general recommendations, advice included putting yourself out there and talking to people at industry events, trying to teach others the new things you learn and recognising that students are still starting out, and it's a good idea to to focus on communication in addition to technical skills.
