Summer of Tech Interns

SoT Internships are full-time, paid, entry-level IT & Design roles, usually from mid-November to mid-February. They're for students at New Zealand tertiary institutions, regardless of what you're studying, or what stage of your qualification you are at, you just need to be interested & excited about kick-starting your tech career. What you may lack in experience, you can make up for in motivation & passion to learn, fast!

Technology & Design Internships

We help students prepare, research and apply for paid work experience and entry-level jobs in ICT & digital design roles during the university summer holidays. During the year, we prepare you for work through exposure to the technical topics & skills that are in demand by local employers, through our bootcamp programme.

Tertiary students with an interest in developing skills in web & software, DevOps, digital design, Business Analysis, digital marketing, software testing, app development, security, User Experience, and more, we can help! You don’t need skills or experience, just an interest in a tech career, and the motivation and passion to learn and develop your skills on the job!

Tupu Tek: Pacific Tech Internships

Tupu Tek is a new summer internship programme for Pacific tech students sponsored by tech industry employers, Summer of Tech (SoT) and the Ministry of Business Innovation and Employment.

‘Tupu’ is a Polynesian word meaning ‘grow’ and ‘tek’ is a Melanesian pidgin term referring to technology, the name of the programme points to our joint aspiration of growing the tech sector through supporting more Pacific people to gain useful work experience and skills development within a tech sector workplace setting.

Tupu Tek is a great way for Pacific tech students to be supported to explore the tech profession through hands on work experience. Employers involved in Tupu Tek will be provided with support to attract and engage Pacific interns as well as support an understanding of how they might be able to enhance their own inclusive work environments.

Summer of Biz: Marketing & HR Internships

In 2017, we launched Marketing and HR internships in Wellington! Summer of Biz works in exactly the same way as Summer of Tech, but our bootcamps focus on Marketing & HR topics, and internships are in those disciplines too.

We’re seeking students with skills and interest in marketing strategy, communications, digital marketing, social media, human resources, customer support, event management, organisational development, recruitment, and more.
