Nailing Job Interviews

Recruitment season is here! Job interviews for internships are often your first professional interview, so here's some tips to help you prepare:Long time volunteer Sam Jarman wrote an awesome blog post to help students prepare for Meet & Greet, check it out here. His tips for Nailing the Conversation are absolutely relevant to job interviews, too. As Sam said at our Mock Interview session...

"Job Interview" is just a more stressful way of saying "conversation", anyway!

If you missed out on attending Bernie White's communication skills & job interview bootcamps this year, check out the slide deck, there's some great tips to help you prepare for job interviews here. Our best advice to help you get ready for job interviews is to PRACTICE! There are some common questions that you can prepare for. Think about what you'll bring to the role. What EVIDENCE can you talk about, where have you done this kind of thing before? If you haven't done it before, why do you want to do it? Are you a fast learner?Employers hiring interns are not expecting you to have stacks of experience. They know you're a student/graduate, and they are ready to invest in mentoring & training. But you need to bring the right attitude and aptitude to the job interview, to convince them you're a great investment!Good luck for recruitment season, we hope you get lots of opportunities to nail those conversations!
