Finding candidates

Candidates grade themselves across 200+ skills to enable you to narrow your search by level of paid, practical and academic experience.

Skills cover all aspects of technology, including web and software, security, mechanical engineering, digital design, UX and marketing, data, cloud, content creation and more. We also cover core skills such as team work, communication and presentation.

Our anonymised search function hides name, profile picture, pronouns and other identifying information so you can focus on the key skills of the candidate. We encourage all our employers to use this function to limit bias and build a more diverse and inclusive team.

Candidate preparation

Along with our team of industry volunteers, we deliver free workshops and career coaching sessions throughout the year. In 2022 we ran 84 student events, covering CV & profile reviews, interview practice, technical workshops and advice and inspiration for aspiring tech professionals. This helps candidates prepare for recruitment and for their careers in tech.

The generosity, insight and inspiration of our event sponsors, alumni and volunteers are the key ingredients that make Summer of Tech the best place to find your junior talent.

Recruitment events

Summer of Tech runs a series of events to support summer intern recruitment:

Meet & Greet: Our version of a career fair event where you can network with candidates casually before you progress to the interview stage.

Speed Interviews: Invite your top candidates to attend a series of quick-fire interviews, so you can get to know each other better. We take care of the scheduling, so you don’t have to.

Offers: We have set dates for internship offers, and our web platform manages sending them out and receiving responses from candidates to keep the process fair for everyone.

Prospect management

Our candidate management system allows you and your team to streamline your recruitment process.

Customise the prospect categories to match your organisation's recruitment activities for each role. eg. interviews, technical tests, portfolio review or reference checks.

Simply drag and drop candidates to move them between each prospect category as they move through your recruitment stages.
